Empires Send Atlanta Home with 2-1 Loss
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the New York Empires and the Atlanta Generals, Jack Neenan, who is tied for 4th in the ABL in saves with 14, was the difference-maker. The New York right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Neenan got the win, improving to 4-5. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. Picking up the save was Jack Pratt. He's now 2 for 2 in save chances.
Rick Lintner, who is tied for 9th in the ABL in RBI with 47, aided the New York cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first. For the game, the third baseman went 1 for 2 with 2 walks.
"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Lintner told the New York Daily.
Today's win puts New York at 45-36, while Atlanta falls to 35-47.
