At San Vicente Park, the Twin Cities Northmen and Los Angeles Pobladores were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Los Angeles Pobladores starter Rick Beasley was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Twin Cities Northmen, 7-1. Beasley, now 6-5, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.
Roger McCoy, who finished 4th in the ABL in batting average with .293 in 1972, aided the Los Angeles cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 4 with a walk.
"I had my mind made up to go the distance," said Beasley.
Los Angeles, now 44-37, holds down second place in the American Baseball League Western Division.
