Late Rally Earns New York 4-2 Win
The New York Empires had to overcome a fine effort from Atlanta pitcher Bill Davis to win, 4-2, at Atlantic Station Field. Davis went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. New York starter Jon Pierce was credited with the win after throwing 114 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 7-3. Jack Pratt closed out the game, earning his 11th save.

Rick Haun had a direct impact on the outcome. Haun contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put New York up, 3-2.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Haun told the New York Times.

With the win, the Empires sit at 49-32.
