Coomes Now 8-7 After Beating Drillers

The Dallas Wranglers rode a solid performance from 32-year-old starting pitcher Steve Coomes to a win, beating the Houston Drillers, 3-0, at Bluff Park. Frank Dunn was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 7 of 7 save opportunities. The Wranglers now have a record of 45-39 with the win over Houston.
Coomes gave Dallas a solid start. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 7.1 innings.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Coomes.
