The first-place Denver Burros took on the Milwaukee Dairymen in front of a spirited crowd.

The Denver Burros cruised to a win over the Milwaukee Dairymen, 14-4, at Gates Crescent Park. Guillaume Moret, who led the NBL in OPS with 1.086 in 1971, led the way, going 3-for-4 for Denver. Denver has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.

Cliff Sanford had a big bases-clearing double for the Burros in the bottom of the third inning. With Denver leading 4-1 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from John Gannon, who is a two-time All-Star, and swatted a double to right. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Burros ahead, 7-1.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Sanford told the Denver Times.
