7-5 Loss to Bobcats Extends Philadelphia Losing Streak
|
Led by Phil Chirico, the Cleveland Bobcats downed the Philadelphia Quakers, 7-5. Chirico was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Bobcats. Cleveland reliever Joel Goodyear picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Dave Terry absorbed the loss. Earning the save was Paul Darch. He's now cashed in 1 of 1 save opportunities.
Chirico had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 2-0 fastball from Dave Terry, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Bobcats a 6-5 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Chirico.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Cleveland manager Daniel Mays.
Philadelphia's current losing streak is now 7 games.
