Traders Absorb 6-3 Home Loss
At Union Field, the Chicago Traders and Los Angeles Blockbusters were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Los Angeles Blockbusters locked up a win at Union Field, knocking off the Chicago Traders, 6-3. On the mound for Los Angeles was right-hander Dario Fontanez. He played a major role in the triumph. In 7 innings, Fontanez surrendered 11 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Joe Hamby nailed down his 2nd save.

The Blockbusters got a big at-bat from right fielder Oscar Gonzalez. For the game, Gonzalez was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 1-0 lead.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Los Angeles manager John Trausch.

Los Angeles now sports a record of 33-51.
