Blockbusters Dump Milwaukee, 2-1, to Win 4th in a Row
|
The Los Angeles Blockbusters had to overcome a good performance from Milwaukee pitcher Randy Adams to claim a 2-1 win at Blockbuster Stadium. Adams went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Dario Fontanez, the winning pitcher, improved to 6-6. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 9 hits and 1 run, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Tom Benson, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities.
The Blockbusters got a big at-bat from second baseman Norm Parsons. For the game, Parsons went 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 15th double of the season gave Los Angeles a 2-0 lead.
"Bottom line," said Milwaukee skipper Brandon Dudley, "we didn't play well enough to win."
Los Angeles has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
