Terriers Score Late to Nip Generals, 4-3
|
The Boston Terriers withstood an impressive performance by Atlanta catcher Frank Bohley to defeat the Generals, 4-3, at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. Bohley was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. David Juarez claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record stands at 5-7. Boston is now 34-50.
Had Bob Madaras not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Madaras hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Terriers.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Madaras.
