The Chicago Traders defeated the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 7-4, at Blockbuster Stadium. Chicago third baseman John Sledd had a superb performance. He was 4-5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Sammy Mason earned his 3rd save in 6 chances. The National Baseball League Western Division-leading Traders have a record of 54-32.

Walt McCord had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With the bases empty, he hit a double. It helped send Chicago to the win.
