Bobcats Lose By a Run at Chicago
Starting pitcher Bobby Peters gave the Chicago Traders a rock-solid effort. The Missouri City, Texas native helped his team defeat the Cleveland Bobcats, 3-2, at Union Field. In 8 innings, Peters surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Randy Weisenberg closed out the game, earning his 25th save.

The Traders got a big at-bat from center fielder Fran Precourt. For the game, Precourt was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Chicago a 3-2 lead.

"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Cleveland manager Daniel Mays. "We just didn't cash in."
