Chicago Hangs 5-1 Loss on Los Angeles

The Chicago Traders and Los Angeles Blockbusters squared off at Union Field.
The Chicago Traders beat the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 5-1, at Union Field. Starting pitcher Dick Scorza was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. In 7.2 innings, Scorza surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run.
There was more than one reason the Traders beat the Blockbusters, but Scorza's big at-bat in the bottom of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-1 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
Said losing manager John Trausch: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
The Traders, now 6-3, have played some good baseball in the early going.
