Knickerbockers Earn 6-4 Win Against Industrials
Pittsburgh got a decent performance from pitcher Bob Briggs, but it wasn't enough to beat the New York Knickerbockers. New York won the Allegheny Field contest, 6-4. Briggs threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. With the win, New York raised its record to 45-40.

Bob Underwood provided a timely hit. The New York right fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the 12th inning to put the Knickerbockers on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

In postgame comments, Underwood said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
