Drillers Win at Home, 7-2
|
Houston starter Paul Wiley pitched well against the Los Angeles Pobladores at Sam Houston Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-2. Wiley yielded 2 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 11 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 9-3. Los Angeles's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
Jackie Frost had a big 2-run home run for the Drillers in the bottom of the third inning. With Houston leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a cutter from Phil Lester, who leads the ABL in innings pitched with 157.2, and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Drillers on top, 3-0.
