Brooklyn Wins, 2-0
|
The Brooklyn Bluebirds claimed a close win over the Philadelphia Quakers, due in large part to Dave Teckenbrock. The Brooklyn right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. Teckenbrock got the win, improving to 7-7. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed no runs. The Bluebirds now have a record of 41-46 with the win over Philadelphia.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Dave Fogarty? The Brooklyn center fielder had a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put the Bluebirds on top, 2-0. For the game, Fogarty had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We did just enough to win," Fogarty said.
