Skip Carter, who is tied for 2nd in the NBL in wins with 11, was terrific for the Kansas City Bulls in his team's 2-1 triumph over the Washington Eagles. His performance earned Carter rave reviews. Carter, the winner, moves to 11-2. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. Picking up the save was Bob Crosby. He's now 24 for 30 in save chances.
Ken Durick drew 1 walk for Kansas City. The 27-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Rich Moreland. It was his 23rd walk of the season.
Kansas City manager DD Martin called it "a darn good win."
With the win, Kansas City raised its record to 46-40.
