Cincinnati Hangs 7-5 Loss on Washington
|
The Cincinnati Packers overcame a pretty good performance by Washington shortstop Gary Long, beating the Eagles, 7-5, at Monument Field. Long was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. Jerry Meek collected his 7th save. The setback makes Washington 32-53.
Ron Brown helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Cincinnati a 2-0 lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Brown said.
