Cleveland pitcher Fred Ahrens did his part in helping his team beat the New York Knickerbockers, 3-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Cleveland now owns a record of 41-44.

Paul Hastings was the walk-off hero for Cleveland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bobcats catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Ahrens.
