Eagles Rack Up 8-1 Win Versus Cincinnati
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 24-year old third baseman Larry Wools, the Washington Eagles stopped the Cincinnati Packers, 8-1, in 9 innings. Washington is now 35-50, while Cincinnati is 26-63.

With Washington leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Wools hit a fastball from John Stoddard for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Eagles ahead, 4-0.

"They just got us," said Cincinnati manager Martin Abresch, "and that's all I can say."
