Dairymen Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Burros, 6-4
With left fielder Larry Morford leading the charge, the Milwaukee Dairymen defeated the Denver Burros, 6-4, at Gates Crescent Park. Morford, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1966 draft, went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Milwaukee reliever Dan Valenti picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Dick Scorza was tagged with the loss. Arnie Keilman, credited with the save, is now 13 for 15 in save opportunities.

Milwaukee took advantage of an error in the top of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 4-4, when Mike Wheeler hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Dairymen in front, 5-4.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Dairymen manager Brandon Dudley.
