The Denver Burros got a stellar performance from pitcher Marty Arnold, who handcuffed the St. Louis offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Gates Crescent Park. The winning streak has now reached 7 games for the Burros.

One of the clutch hits for Denver came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the seventh with one out, Guillermo Morales, who finished 2nd in the NBL in OPS with .955 in 1972, hit a run-scoring single to put the Burros up, 3-2. For the game, the center fielder was 2-4 with 2 singles.

"I expect to carry this team on my shoulders at times," said Morales.
