The Chicago Traders claimed a close win over the Los Angeles Blockbusters, due in large part to Jose Mojica. The Chicago right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. Earning the save was Randy Weisenberg. He's now cashed in 14 of 23 save opportunities. The Traders lead the National Baseball League Western Division by 2½ games.

Chicago relied on the hitting of Ron Byrd to pick up the win. The right fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the second inning to put the Traders on top, 2-0. For the game, Byrd had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Chicago manager Larry Link.
