Getting a good performance from first baseman Jose Barroso, the San Francisco Seagulls defeated the Dallas Wranglers, 5-1. Barroso went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Seagulls. The American Baseball League Western Division-leading Seagulls have a record of 55-31.

Scott Wagner had a clutch at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Seagulls. Coming up with the bases loaded and San Francisco trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single.

"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said San Francisco skipper Al Borie.
