Blockbusters Score 4-1 Win Over St. Louis
|
Los Angeles Blockbusters pitcher Larry Messenger was in fine form, leading his team past the St. Louis Explorers, 4-1. Fred Wild recorded the save, making him 14 for 20. The Blockbusters raised their record to 35-52.
The Blockbusters got a big at-bat from second baseman Harvey Katzen. For the game, Katzen went 2-4 with 2 triples and a walk. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 6th triple of the season gave Los Angeles a 1-0 lead.
"Larry is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Los Angeles manager John Trausch.
