Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Pobladores
|
The Los Angeles Pobladores topped the Twin Cities Northmen, 5-3, the lion's share of the credit going to catcher Darrell Martin. On the day, Martin was 2-3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Pobladores. Rick Beasley came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 2-2. Los Angeles is 6th in the American Baseball League Western Division with a record of 37-50.
Martin had a timely hit for Los Angeles in the top of the eighth. With Los Angeles trailing 3-2, he turned a 0-2 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season, making it 5-3, Los Angeles.
"It was a good effort all around," said Martin.
