Baltimore pitcher Pete Veirs did his part in helping his team defeat the Toronto Hurons, 3-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. George Rood was credited with the save for Baltimore, his 5th of the season. Baltimore, with the win, climbs to 30-59.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Bob Carter? The 24-year old center fielder Carter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put Baltimore up, 1-0. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
