In Extras, Bluebirds Beat Quakers
Brooklyn starter Jorge Sandoval pitched well against the Philadelphia Quakers at Flatbush Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2, in 14 innings. With the win, Brooklyn pushed its record to 49-38.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 14th, 30-year old left-handed pitcher Bill Keiser had a chance to be the hero. Philadelphia pitcher Bill Smith wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Keiser hit a sacrifice fly. The Bluebirds had themselves a thrilling win.

Said Keiser: "It's just one win, but it feels like more when you outlast a tough opponent."
