|
Milwaukee turned a good effort from starter Lewis Smith into a win over the Chicago Traders at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. The final score was 3-1. In 8.2 innings, Smith surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Mike Brown earned the save for Milwaukee, his 4th of the year.
Cliff Bragg, who finished 5th in the NBL in doubles with 31 last year, aided the Milwaukee cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the first. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Milwaukee manager Brandon Dudley said.
Milwaukee has a record of 5-5.
