The rain came, as predicted, but the Detroit Wolverines and New York Empires were able to complete their ballgame.

The Detroit Wolverines topped the New York Empires, 12-2, the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Pete Morrison. On the day, Morrison was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Wolverines. Jim Bryant, who is tied for 7th in the ABL in complete games with 6, was the winner. He's now 10-5. The loser was Andy Humphrey.

With Detroit trailing 1-0 in the top of the third, Morrison hit a cutter from Andy Humphrey for a 3-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Wolverines ahead, 3-1.

"We came out aggressive," said Wolverines manager Alex Wobbema. "We came out swinging the bats."

Detroit has now won 3 in a row.
