Brooklyn Gets 8-4 Road Win
|
The Brooklyn Bluebirds topped the Washington Eagles, 8-4, with third baseman Mark Bassett playing a big role. Bassett went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 3 runs for the Bluebirds in the win. Brooklyn bumps their record to 40-49 with the win.
Dave Fogarty, the 22-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Fogarty contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Brooklyn up, 2-0.
"We'll savor this win," Bassett told the Brooklyn Chronicle, "then get ready for the next game."
