Emeralds Lose 5-2 Decision to Dallas
|
Dallas pitcher Charlie Sokol did his part in helping his team beat the Seattle Emeralds, 5-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Frank Dunn notched his 20th save of the season. The third-place Wranglers have won 4 consecutive games.
In the bottom of the second, Dallas shortstop Mike Weatherby had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, Weatherby stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 1-0, Dallas. For the game, he went 1-3 with a hit by pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Charlie was Charlie," said Wranglers manager William Albrecht. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."
