Houston starter Syed Farooqi kept the Twin Cities hitters in check, while his team cruised to a win, 13-2. Farooqi picked up the win for Houston, going 8.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 11 hits. He now sports a record of 8-7. With the win, the Drillers hiked their record to 46-42.

Houston second baseman Lou Ward contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 78th hit of the season and put the Drillers ahead, 4-1.

Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim called the blowout loss "ugly."
