Cleveland Beats Philadelphia as Baird Throws 6-0 Shutout
|
Philadelphia were shut out, 6-0, by Myron Baird and the Cleveland Bobcats at Lakefront Stadium. The Quakers offered little resistance to Baird, who stopped them on 6 hits, fanned 5 and walked 1.
"It just felt right today," the right-handed Baird told reporters after the win. "Even with the rain, it didn't throw me off my rhythm."
To date Baird is 9-4 in 18 starts with a 2.93 ERA and has 68 strikeouts in 135 innings.
