Seagulls Deny Hawks, 3-2
|
The San Francisco Seagulls earned a close win over the Chicago Hawks, thanks in part to Pete Ragsdale. The San Francisco right-hander, who finished 4th in the ABL in ERA with 1.98 in 1967, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. The Seagulls, now 6-3, have been playing some good baseball.
Don Johnson, who finished 5th in the ABL in OPS with .910 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Johnson contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put San Francisco up, 3-0.
In postgame comments, Ragsdale told the San Francisco Herald: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
