Empires Deal Terriers 4-2 Loss
|
New York Empires starter Jon Pierce pitched his team past the Boston Terriers in 12 innings, 4-2. Picking up the save was Jack Neenan. He's now 16 for 21 in save chances. The Empires saw their win-loss record go to 53-38. At the same time, the Terriers fell to 41-50.
Though he didn't earn the victory, Pierce kept his team in the game until the bullpen took over and the New York offense came through. Over 10 innings, he allowed 6 hits and 1 run, while striking out 5.
"Jon did a nice job," said Empires manager Dan Whiting.
