Thanks in large part to first baseman Buck DeFalco, the New York Empires beat the Atlanta Generals, 8-2. DeFalco was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 4 runs. The second-place Generals now sit at 49-39.
Dave Martin, who finished 4th in the ABL in triples with 10 in 1965, helped out the New York cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs.
