The exploits of third baseman Ray Zink helped the New York Knickerbockers defeat the Washington Eagles, 4-2. Zink was 2-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. With the loss, Washington is 2-7.

With New York trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Zink hit a forkball from Ramon Juarez for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Knickerbockers ahead, 2-1.

Zink called the win "a collective effort."
