Industrials Drop Quakers, 5-4
|
Don Keough was a major contributor to the 5-4 Pittsburgh win over Philadelphia. The Industrials left fielder was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Quakers drop to 4-6 and continue their inconsistent start to the 1974 season.
Lew Ward went 1 for 3 for Pittsburgh. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Ward had a clutch at-bat. Facing Philadelphia hurler Darrell Klug, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Industrials a 5-4 lead.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Philadelphia manager Jeff Green.
