Alex Martinez made an impact in the 8-3 Denver win over Milwaukee. Martinez, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1974 draft, went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jim Thurlow picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-4. He struck out 4 in 6 innings. With the victory, the Burros record stands at 45-45.

Denver second baseman Kevin Gunn contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a sinker to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 64th hit of the season and put the Burros ahead, 3-1.

"Solid performance from our side," said Burros manager Clark Anderson.
