Terriers Lose at Home, 9-6
|
Starting pitcher Nate Frampton pitched well enough to help the New York Empires beat the Boston Terriers, 9-6. Jack Neenan picked up his 17th save of the season. With the win, New York upped its record to 54-38.
Al Castro had a big 2-run home run for the Empires in the top of the second inning. With New York leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Ken Torkelson, who is tied for 4th in the ABL in complete games with 6, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Empires on top, 3-0.
"Winning never gets dull," said Castro.
