Montreal right-hander Rich Barron helped his team edge Toronto by the score of 3-2. Barron kept the opposing lineup in check. Barron, now 8-5, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Al Johns locked down his 20th save.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when third baseman Darrell Miller hit a triple. The Habitants went on to win.
