The Brooklyn Bluebirds picked up a win at Flatbush Park, knocking off the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 4-3. Starting pitcher Damon Rutherford played a key role in the triumph. The setback makes Los Angeles 41-50.

Dave Tislow, who finished 4th in the NBL in home runs with 34 last year, came through for Brooklyn with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh. The second baseman went 2 for 3 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 2 RBI.
