Bobcats 5-1 Winners Over Washington
|
Rick Tomlinson pitched a gem to lead Cleveland to victory over the Washington Eagles, 5-1. In 7.1 innings, Tomlinson surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Joe Clabaugh closed the game out for Cleveland, earning his 16th save.
Benito Olivas dealt the Eagles a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Cleveland leading 2-1, Olivas, who is tied for 9th in the NBL with a .395 on-base percentage, hit a 1-1 curveball for a run-scoring single.
"Rick's a gamer," said Cleveland manager Daniel Mays. "Glad he's on our side."
