Bluebirds Absorb 7-1 Loss at Allegheny Field
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials picked up a win at Allegheny Field, dropping the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 7-1. Bob Briggs, who leads the NBL in wins with 12, was the difference-maker. The setback makes Brooklyn 51-41.
The Industrials got a big at-bat from first baseman Alex Robinson. For the game, Robinson went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 16th home run of the season gave Pittsburgh a 3-0 lead.
"I'm proud to wear a Pittsburgh jersey," Briggs told the Pittsburgh Citizen. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
