The San Diego Captains racked up a win at Flatbush Park, bumping off the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 5-4. Bret Weingartz, who started for San Diego, pitched effectively for his team. Weingartz yielded 4 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 5-5. Jack DeWitt earned his 17th save in 24 chances.

San Diego used a well-timed hit by Alex Rojas to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Captains ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
