The Seattle Emeralds withstood an impressive performance by Houston left fielder Mark Sisson to defeat the Drillers, 9-7, at Sam Houston Field. Sisson was 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. With the win, Seattle pushed its record to 46-45.

Seattle used the hitting of Roberto Salazar to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Emeralds on top, 9-7. For the game, Salazar had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"It was terrific getting this win," Salazar said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
