Eddie Ellison left his imprint on the 7-4 New York win against the San Francisco Seagulls. Ellison, who is a nine-time All-Star, went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. With the win, New York pushed its record to 51-43.

The Empires got a big at-bat from left fielder Dave Martin. For the game, Martin went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave New York a 5-2 lead.
