Detroit Downed, 8-1, by Lords
|
John Fredrick pitched a gem to lead Baltimore to victory over the Detroit Wolverines, 8-1. The win makes Baltimore 45-47.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman James Pendleton came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Detroit pitcher William Matz, he hit a 1-2 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Baltimore on top, 2-1.
"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Fredrick.
