The Atlanta Generals got a good effort from starter Ron Cwiklinski in defeating the Montreal Habitants at LaSalle Stadium. The final score was 4-1. The win puts Atlanta at 48-46 this season.

Atlanta used a clutch at-bat from Steve Walp to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Generals ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon.
