Plumley, Wolverines Too Much for Generals
The Detroit Wolverines defeated the Atlanta Generals, 8-6, in part because of right fielder Jerry Plumley. Plumley went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Wolverines. Picking up his 9th save was two-time Royal Ricketts Award winner Fred Harrison. The Wolverines improved their record to 47-46 with the win over Atlanta.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Wolverines grabbed the lead when Plumley hit his 12th home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Chauncey Pompey made it 8-6, Detroit.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Plumley, "but we got it done."
