Pobladores Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Twin Cities
|
Bob Powell, who finished 4th in the ABL in strikeouts with 182 last year, had a strong outing for the Los Angeles Pobladores against the Twin Cities Northmen at San Vicente Park. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 6-3 win. Powell picked up the win for Los Angeles, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 7-8. Leon Fairley got the save, his 13th in 14 chances.
The Pobladores got a big boost from right fielder Bob Wicke who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Northmen hurler Dave Church. It was his 32nd walk of the season and put Los Angeles on top, 1-0.
"My job is to go out and execute," said Powell.
The Pobladores improved their record to 46-49 by beating Twin Cities.
