Late Rally by Northmen Locks Up 6-5 Win
|
The home crowd was treated to a thrilling, walk-off win.
Toronto got a big-time effort from pitcher Mike Beers, but it wasn't enough to keep the Twin Cities Northmen from winning the game, 6-5. Beers threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Twin Cities is now 42-50, while Toronto is 49-46.
Carl Jacobs was the walk-off hero for Twin Cities. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Northmen right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim.
