The Houston Drillers weathered an outstanding game by Boston center fielder Eddie Hernandez to topple the Terriers, 4-3. Hernandez went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. The winner in relief was Jeff Ferguson. He is now 3-0. The left-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 3 innings. The second-place Drillers have won 4 consecutive games.

Mike Wells, who is tied for 5th in the ABL with a .929 OPS, helped out the Houston cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 3.

"Both teams played hard," said Houston manager Steven Palps.
