Brooklyn Bluebirds hurler Jorge Sandoval was at his best as he beat the Denver Burros, 1-0.

"He just kept the ball down, did a good job, made his pitches," said Denver manager Clark Anderson. "We didn't do a good job making adjustments, so we helped him out a little bit."

Sandoval, who finished 5th in the NBL in wins with 17 in 1969, fired a 4-hitter and totaled 7 strikeouts and no walks in the shutout performance.

Currently Sandoval has a 7-7 won-lost record in 18 starts with a 2.83 ERA. He also has 92 strikeouts in 140 innings.
