Knickerbockers Suffer One-Run Loss at San Diego
San Diego turned a good performance from starting pitcher Bret Weingartz into a 3-2 triumph over the New York Knickerbockers at San Diego Sporting Complex. Weingartz picked up the win for San Diego, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 7-7. The Captains improved their record to 47-48 with the win over New York.

San Diego took advantage of an error in the bottom of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Darrell Conley hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Captains in front, 3-1.
